It has been a precedented year for wildfires in Colorado with the three largest fires in state history occurring in 2020. On October 21st 28 homes in the Columbine Lake community along with hundreds more in the surrounding area were destroyed by the East Troublesome fire in Grand Lake, Grand County. Many residents lost their primary homes and all their possessions.
All of Colorado is mourning the devastating losses Grand County has endured. The fire ripped through communities and destroyed homes even as people were fleeing in their cars. It still burns through one of our nation's greatest treasures, Rocky Mountain National Park.
Our family is raising money to help support those most impacted by the fires by auctioning a piece of art work that Christian painted the week following the fire.
100% of the money raised will be donated to help these families.
I believe every painting has a healing element to it. This painting is very personal and was created following the devastating wildfire in our community.
Native Healer represents the emotion, strength and healing ability that every one of us has deep inside to move forward, heal and renew ourselves.
Each segment of the painting represents these steps with a bird sitting on the Native American watching out to protect us.
Although the auction has ended you can still help Grand County families by donating below.
